Job Responsibilities for PhD Scientist Job for Freshers at VSI
As a Scientist in VSI’s Department of Alcohol Technology & Biofuels, you will lead research and development initiatives aimed at enhancing sustainability and optimizing processes within the biofuel and biochemical industries. Your key duties will include:
- Conducting sustainability evaluations of industrial facilities or production processes, with a focus on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools.
- Developing detailed process models and simulations for chemical and biochemical operations.
- Performing techno-economic assessments to determine the financial feasibility of biofuel production technologies.
- Engaging in advanced research, particularly in the areas of biofuels and sustainable energy, with a preference for candidates from prestigious institutions such as IISc, IIT, NIT, CSIR labs, and others.

Qualification Requirements
We are looking for a highly qualified Ph.D. Scientist to join VSI. Ideal candidates will have completed their Ph.D. in one of the following areas:
- Chemical Engineering
- Biochemical Engineering
- Biosciences and Bioengineering
- Energy Science & Engineering
- Sustainable Energy Engineering
- Green Energy Technology
A solid understanding of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and sustainability analysis is required for this role. We encourage recent graduates or those with up to one year of experience to apply.
